Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past — if anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it.
Who we are
TutorSuite Academic Support Ltd is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. We are registered in England and Wales. Our contact address and email are in the site footer.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us — name, email address and, if you provide it, a phone number.
- Assignment information — the brief, rubric, subject, academic level, word count and deadline.
- Attribution data — the page you arrived on, the referring site and any UTM campaign parameters. We use this to understand which pages bring students to us.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and pages viewed, collected in aggregate for performance monitoring.
- Payment records — held by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card details.
What we do not collect
- We do not ask for your university login, student number or institutional credentials, and you should never give them to us or to anyone else.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers.
- Our free tools run entirely in your browser. Anything you type into the referencing generator, grade calculator, page converter or outline generator never reaches our servers.
Lawful basis for processing
We process your contact and assignment data to perform our contract with you, or to take steps you asked for before entering into one. We process attribution and technical data under legitimate interests. That means understanding how students find us, and keeping the site working. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become orders: 12 months, then deleted.
- Order records: 6 years, as required for UK tax and accounting purposes.
- Assignment files and briefs: deleted 90 days after delivery, or immediately on request.
- Website analytics: 14 months in aggregate form.
Who we share it with
Your first name and the assignment brief are shared with the subject specialist assigned to your work. Your surname, email address and payment details are not. We also use processors for email delivery, payment processing and hosting, each bound by a data processing agreement.
We do not contact your university, ever, and we do not share your data with any educational institution.
Your rights under UK GDPR
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected.
- Erasure — have your data deleted, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Restriction — limit how we use your data while a dispute is resolved.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
How to exercise your rights
Email us with the request. We respond within 30 days and there is no charge. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage required for the site to function. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our cookie policy has the detail.
